Vijay Amritraj (Tamil, born 14 December 1953) is an Indian former tennis player, sports pundit, and actor. Maggie Dhairyam and Robert Amritraj raised Vijay in Chennai, India. He and his brothers, Anand and Ashok Amritraj, were among the first Indians to compete in professional tennis on the world circuit. They attended Don Bosco Egmore School in Chennai and subsequently graduated from Loyola College in Chennai. The brothers (Vijay and Anand) were semifinalists in the men’s doubles at Wimbledon in 1976. In 1983, he received the Padma Shri award.
